Built at the foot of Mount Pirin, Bansko is the all-white jewel of Bulgaria. The small and hospitable city hosts millions of visitors every year as in addition to the entertainment and relaxation options offered by its center, it also has the largest ski resort in the Balkans.

Food and local cuisine

Prefer the Bulgarian salad shopska, the katino snack, the traditionally cooked knuckle and the famous kebab soutzoukaki. Accompany your meal with a glass of local wine or a cold Bulgarian beer.

Transfer from/to Bansko
In Bansko you can travel by road as it is only 290 km from Thessaloniki and the route is very smooth. Of course there is the option to travel by air to Sofia and transfer to Bansko (95 km) by train, bus or taxi.
Public transportation
Bansko is a small town that is easy and pleasant to walk. However, for your transfer to the ski resort there is the possibility of using a cable car or minivan.
