For Karpathos you can travel either by plane from Athens airport (duration about 1 hour) or by ferry from the port of Piraeus (duration about 20 hours) with frequent itineraries all year round and the surrounding islands. It is important to know that the island has 2 ports: the port of Karpathos in Pigadia and Diafani.
The airport is 15 km away from the city of Karpathos. Access to / from the airport can be done by bus, taxi or rental car.
To get around Karpathos, it is a good idea to have your own car, but even if you do not have one, there are local bus routes. Alternatively, you can rent a car there or take a taxi.
