Samothrace, escape to the mysterious earthly paradise
Samothrace is the adventure island of the North Aegean dominated by the shadow of Mount Saos. A special place that has a rare and wild natural beauty and the perfect combination of mountain and sea. The island exudes its energy, perhaps because in the Sanctuary of the Great Gods, where the Kaveri Mysteries were held, the beautiful statue of the Victory of Samothrace, a world monument exposed in the Louvre Museum, was found.
On this island, worshiped by the gods, you will find impressive waterfalls, pedestals, fountains, and endless paths, in a spectacular peak of nature but also amazing beaches waiting to be discovered!
Some sandy and calm and others hidden in a mysterious landscape. The most popular are Pachia Ammos beach, Vatos and Fonia Tower.
Chora the islands capital, imposing, amphitheatrically built, as if the whole island is closed in its arms. Wander the picturesque alleys drinking homemade lemonade, a treat from the locals. Picturesque settlements scattered on the island that you should visit, are Therma with the thermal springs and Kamariotissa.
Enjoy well-known local food
You cannot leave Samothrace unless you have tried the well-known goat in various recipes. Taste fried bean soup, giaprakia with yogurt and finally the traditional dessert of the island, the prausto.
