Travel to Kastelorizo, a shining spot of culture in the Aegean
In the Lycian Sea of the Dodecanese and a stone's throw from the coasts of Asia Minor is Kastelorizo, the beautiful island with the great historical route and rich tradition. From the top of the red rock, the medieval castle of the Knights of St. John overlooks the entire Chora, while St. George of the mountain, with its fortified view, from the top of the hill, offers a plentiful panorama of rare beauty, which is breathtaking. Paleokastro, the oldest monument of the island, travels, every visitor mentally in time, and the, extremely preserved, Lycian tomb, carved, entirely, in the rocks, turns into an archeological gem of incalculable value. A visit to the Blue Cave, one of the most beautiful caves in the Mediterranean, amazes every visitor with its boundless natural beauty, offering unique moments of recreation, while a visit to the beaches of the island and the nearby island of Ro, will shock the senses, proving that this acritic island, is a destination that leaves no one unmoved.
Food and local cuisine
The local cuisine in Kastelorizo offers a wide variety of local and delicious specialties with products of excellent quality. Fish and fresh seafood are at the forefront, as well as meat dishes and excellent desserts. Try chickpea meatballs, wedding pilaf, as well as the "strava" (a type of baklava),halva, lazarakia, buns and "koutoumaria", the sweet traditional pie and drink the excellent local soumada.

The best time for your trip is the summer and especially the months of June and July, as in August the island presents a lot of traffic.
