In Sofia you can travel by road, as the city is about 3.5 hours from the city of Thessaloniki. Of course you can travel by air with cheap flights from Thessaloniki and Athens all year round. From the airport you can transfer to the city center using a taxi that will cost from 6-15 euros. You can also use the airport buses that will take you to the metro stop that will take you to the center in half an hour.
Public transportation
The city of Sofia has an organized transport network consisting of buses and metros, which run frequently covering all destinations and attractions in the city. Of course there is also the slightly more expensive option of using a taxi.
