El Ávila National Park
For stunning views of the city and the mountains around it, climb to Cerro El Ávila peak by cable car or by car from Caracas. The forests of the park are home to many butterflies, birds and orchids, including the country's national flower, the Easter orchid.

Plaza Bolivar
Serving as the center of the old town of Caracas, Plaza Bolivar is a busy tree-lined place dedicated to Simon Bolivar, a famous military and political leader of south America. From there, you can walk to other interesting sights, such as the Church of San Francisco and the Capitol building.
Plaza Francia
See one of the landmarks of the capital. In the center of the square is the obelisk, symbol of the city, as well as a large impressive fountain. Here you can stop for lunch in one of the many restaurants. From Plaza French, admire also the gorgeous view of the surrounding mountains.
