Travel to the Seychelles and escape to the most beautiful "private" paradise on earth
In the heart of the Indian Ocean off the coast of Africa stretches an archipelago of small coral islands, the Seychelles, a true paradise on earth, which manages to attract thousands of tourists with the dreamy landscape of surreal beauty and serene atmosphere. One of the greatest treasures of natural beauty on our planet, it invites every visitor to live a unique travel experience in it and to be reborn in a natural environment of stunning beauty, which takes your breath away.
Dense, tropical vegetation and endless white sandy beaches emerge between high, granite cliffs and create a spectacular setting of private paradise, which manages to capture the eyes and activate all the senses. The Seychelles of exotic escape, adventure, but also of calm and simplicity, retain the authenticity of their exotic character, through a complex mosaic of natural beauty and cultural tradition.
From the cosmopolitan capital Victoria on the island of Mahe, with its Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, its bustling open-air markets and magnificent botanical gardens (Royal gardens), Beau Vallon Beach and Mount Monte Seychellois, a genuine atmosphere of a island, which reverently respects nature and man. And from the May Valley (Valle de Mai) to Praslin Island, and the famous white, sandy beach, Anse Lazio to the gardens of Mont Fleury, nature continues to grow and proudly justifies its charm and its indomitable power. At La Digue, the most charming island in the archipelago, with its relaxed rhythms and enjoyable tranquility, lush exotic nature and crystal clear ocean set their sights on the pearly Anse Source beach, highlighting its unrivaled beauty.
Food and local cuisine
Local cuisine in the Seychelles is based on the culinary traditions of Creole, whose main ingredients are rice and seafood. Keep in mind that local cuisine is extremely spicy. The national dish of the country is pwason ek diri (fish and rice). The menu always contains typical fish delicacies, such as the juicy red snapper (bourzwa), tuna steaks (the king of fish) and chatini shark fillets, while in extremely rare cases parrot meat fillets are served. Shrimp and octopuses, cooked in many variations, have the honor of them, as well as soups (tektek soup). Do not forget to try the typical delicacy chauve-souris (Fruit Curry).
The best season to visit Seychelles
Ideally choose the period May-June and mid-September to mid-November for an enjoyable, pleasant and comfortable trip to the Seychelles. Although temperatures throughout the year range between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius, the aforementioned periods are considered the coolest.
How to move around Seychelles
Transfer from/to Seychelles
Seychelles International Airport is located on Mahe Island, 11 km from the capital Victoria. Transportation to and from the airport is by bus or taxi.
Public Transportation
Transportation to the Seychelles and the individual islands of the archipelago is achieved through the public transport network. The options are of course limited. Choose a bus (running on all the inhabited islands of the archipelago) or a taxi (Mahe and Praslin Islands). Alternatively you can rent a car, keeping in mind the poor condition of the road network or bicycle. The movement between the islands is done by boat, with the help of catamaran or boats.
