Saint Elmo fortress
Its name comes from the saint of sailors and guards the entrance of the ports. It was built in 1552 by knights in just 4 months. After reconstructions, the fort was reopened to the public in 2015. You can visit the War Museum, the chapel of 1559 and the church of 1729.
Upper Barrakka
Relax with a walk in the beautiful Upper Barrakka gardens with the circular fountain, the ornate sculptures and the unique panoramic view of the harbor.
Cathedral of Agios Ioannis
Built between 1573 and 1578, its exterior is reminiscent of a fortress, while internally it is baroque and hosts eight different chapels. Inside, the famous works of Caravaggio like the Beheading of John, are very much impressive. Next to the Cathedral you will find a museum with relics of the temple and other exhibits.
Valletta Pier
The baroque pier of the 18th century was built during the period of the great magister Pinto and it still holds the role of the most important commercial and financial center of the city, with many shops, bars and popular restaurants and of course the impressive docking of large cruise ships.
In Marsaxlokk
Marsaxlokk is one of the most famous picturesque fishing villages of Malta. In its harbor, the traditional luzzu fishing boats flood the blue of the sea. Enjoy here a dinner with fish and seafood, but also the traditional bazaar, which takes place every day with local products like lace and leather goods.
