Casablanca is the largest city in Morocco, located in the west of the country and washed by the Atlantic Ocean. In Casablanca you will find some of the most important and beautiful sights in Morocco. The astonishing architectural achievement and landmark of the city, the Mosque of Hassan II, which is located on a small cape overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, and its minaret of 210 meters,
which is the highest in the world. Take a walk in the old town of Medina, which has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and is a labyrinth of narrow streets and tall dusty buildings dominated by the traditional element and authentic culture of the locals, as well as the Baia Palace which dates back to the 19th century and is one of the master pieces of Moroccan architecture. Continue your tour in the city center, where you will find the twin towers and the huge shopping center. You can also visit the Cathedral of Casablanca, as well as some of the open-air markets, with its impressive colors and excellent local products. A city of unquestionable romance and the feeling of adventure, Casablanca will simply amaze you!
Food and local cuisine
Casablanca has of course Moroccan cuisine flavors with many Spanish and French influences, by an extensive use of spices. During your visit to the city try the traditional bistilla pie, the harira soup and metsoui the dish with roasted goat or lamb.
Tazin is the most famous traditional recipe. In essence it is the shallow utensil used when serving and you can choose chicken or lamb, always accompanied by the classic dates and raisins. Also, in Casablanca you must take for granted that you will find everywhere couscous, in different variations, and of course do not forget to enjoy green tea with mint.

Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport is located 30 kilometres south of the city. The most popular and economical way to reach it is the airport train which leads you to the centre in 45 minutes. There is also a bus service with the same journey time, as well as the alternative of a taxi.

In Casablanca, the most reliable method of transportation is the tram and of course the taxis. you can also choose the most economical option of buses which are not always in good condition.
