The tour of the Lake
Enjoy the tour of the lake in Kastoria, a wonderful 7 km route, either by car, bicycle or even on foot. The lake is one of the most beautiful in the Balkans. See the unique Dragon Cave and the amazing Monastery of Panagia Mavriotissa, built in 1802.
Beautiful, restored mansions of Macedonian architecture, Byzantine churches, remarkable museums such as the Folklore Museum, the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle, the Costume Museum and the Byzantine Museum and cobbled streets Dolcho show us the history of the city at that time.
5 χλµ. next to the suburb of Chloe is the picturesque settlement Aposkepos. Its cobbled square with its 12 stone fountains and running water, the age-old plane trees and the view of the lake and the city of Kastoria will enchant you.
Just 4 kg. outside Kastoria, the port settlement of Dispilio is the first outdoor ecosystem in Greece which represents a set of houses and gives characteristic images from the life of our ancestors in the Neolithic era.
Steep ravines, lush forests, alpine ports Gistova and Arrenes compose the fountain of the fourth largest mountain in Greece, Grammos, also a refuge for the brown bear. The entrance to get to know the mountain is Nestorio.
