National Museum
The National History Museum is the largest museum in Albania, with over 4,750 items in its collection, from the Paleolithic era to communist times. There you will find much about Albanian history. At the entrance you will see a mosaic on the front wall depicting the different eras in its history.
Skanderbeg Square
It houses the top monuments of Tirana, such as the Clock Tower, the Et'hem Bey Mosque and the National History Museum. There is a monument to Skanderbeg in the square, which occupies the place where a piece of the communist era of Joseph Stalin was located.
The Clock Tower
One of the most famous sights of the city, especially when illuminated at night, is the Clock Tower which dates from 1822 when it was completed by the poet Haxhi Et'hem Bey. You can climb to the top of the tower for free and enjoy the wonderful view of the center of Tirana.
Et'hem Bey Mosque
This place of worship was completed in the early 19th century and is one of the top attractions in the city. During the fall of communism, 10,000 people gathered to honor their religion, because the communists had banned Islam.
