Itinerary
Arrival in Athens
Upon your arrival at Athens International Airport, our assistant will meet you and arrange for your transfer to the hotel. After you have checked in and freshened up, you will have the rest of the afternoon free to spend at your leisure.
We recommend taking a stroll around the city to get a first impression of the Greek metropolis and soak in the vibrant atmosphere.
Overnight in Athens.
Panoramic tour of Athens and Acropolis
After breakfast, embark on a panoramic tour of Athens. Your expert guide will take you to see the iconic sites of the city, starting with the Panathenaic Stadium, where the first modern Olympic Games of modern times were held in 1896. Enjoy a short stop at the stadium to admire its historical significance.
Continue the tour and pass by the Prime Minister's residence (Old Royal Palace), guarded by the Evzones in their colorful uniforms. You will also see the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian's Arch, the Parliament, the memorial to the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, the University, the National Library, and Constitution Square (Syntagma).
Next, visit the Acropolis, the crown jewel of Athens. Explore the architectural masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens, including the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion, and the Parthenon. Marvel at the harmonious blend of material and spirit that the Acropolis represents.
Conclude your visit to the Acropolis by exploring the Acropolis Museum, where you can admire the statues and artifacts found on the Acropolis and gain further insights into ancient Greek history and culture.
In the evening, you have free time to enjoy at your leisure. We recommend taking a tour of Cape Sounion to witness the beautiful sunset over the Aegean Sea.
Overnight in Athens.
Athens - Mycenae - Epidaurus - Olympia
After breakfast, depart from Athens and travel to the Corinth Canal, a narrow waterway that connects the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf. Take a short stop to admire the views and capture some memorable photos.
Continue your journey to Epidaurus, known for its ancient theater, one of the best-preserved theaters of the classical world. Marvel at the remarkable acoustics and learn about the history of this significant site.
Next, make a short stop in Nafplion, a charming seaside town famous for its Venetian architecture, narrow streets, and picturesque squares. Enjoy some time to explore and soak in the atmosphere.
Afterward, head to Mycenae, one of the most important archaeological sites in ancient Greece. Visit the Citadel, where you can see the palace and the Tomb of Agamemnon, a testament to the rich history of the region.
Finally, reach Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games. Dinner and overnight stay in Olympia, preparing for more exploration the next day.
Olympia – Delphi
In the morning visit the Archaeological Site with the sanctuary of Olympian Zeus, the Ancient Stadium and the Archaeological Museum. Then drive on through the plains of Ilia and Achaia until the magnificent bridge which is crossing the Corinthian Bay from Rion to Antirion. Pass by the picturesque Town of Nafpaktos (Lepanto) and Itea, arrive in Delphi. (Dinner and overnight).
Delphi - Kalambaka – Meteora
In the morning, visit the Archaeological Site and Museum of Delphi. Explore the Sanctuary of Apollo Pythios and marvel at the masterpieces of ancient Greek sculpture. Delphi holds great importance as the site of the Oracle of Delphi, where people sought guidance and wisdom from the god Apollo through Pythia, the priestess of Apollo.
Afterward, depart for Kalambaka, a small town located at the foot of the Meteora rock formations. The Meteora is an awe-inspiring natural wonder and a monument of the Byzantine era. Dinner and overnight stay in Kalambaka.
Meteora – Thessaloniki
This morning, we will embark on a fascinating visit to Meteora. These remarkable monasteries, perched atop towering rocks, provide a unique insight into the religious history of Greece. As you explore the monasteries, you will also have the opportunity to admire exquisite examples of Byzantine art, which adorn these sacred sites.
After the visit to Meteora, we will depart from Kalambaka and continue our journey through the awe-inspiring plain of Thessaly and the picturesque Valley of Tempi. Along the way, you will be treated to breathtaking views of Mount Olympos, the highest mountain in Greece and the legendary abode of the 12 Gods in Greek Mythology.
Our final destination for the day is Thessaloniki, the second largest city in Greece and a vibrant cultural center. Thessaloniki boasts a rich history and is home to a multitude of ancient and modern landmarks waiting to be explored. Enjoy a delightful dinner and relax for an overnight stay in Thessaloniki.
Thessaloniki city tour
This morning, visit Thessaloniki, a city with a rich history and cultural heritage. Known as the "co-reigning" city of the Byzantine Empire, Thessaloniki is home to some of the oldest and most characteristic churches in the Christian world. Explore these unique monuments and delve into the city's glorious Byzantine past. You will also visit the Museum of Byzantine Culture, which showcases significant artifacts and artworks from this era.
After the tour, the rest of the day is free for you to explore Thessaloniki at your leisure. Enjoy shopping, dining, and immersing yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of the city. Dinner and overnight stay in Thessaloniki.
Thessaloniki - Edessa – Naoussa – Vergina - Veria
Depart in the morning for a unique exploration of historical Macedonia. Start with a visit to picturesque Edessa, famous for its waterfalls. Proceed to Naoussa, where you will visit Aristotle's School, a site of exceptional beauty and historical importance. This is where the great philosopher taught "the doctrines of morals and politics" to Alexander the Great and the Macedonian youth.
Continue to Vergina (ancient Aigai), where you will experience the thrill of a visit to the unique Museum created in the Great Tumulus. This museum houses astonishing findings from the tomb of King Phillip II, Alexander's father, considered one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of the 20th century.
Just a few miles away, you will reach Veria (Biblical Beroea), where you can visit Saint Paul's Bema and stroll through the old Jewish neighborhood and the colorful market area. Experience the rich history and vibrant present of this city.
Return to Thessaloniki for dinner and overnight stay.
Thessaloniki - Pella - Dion - Athens
Drive to Pella, the capital of Alexander the Great. Explore the exquisite floor mosaics of the 4th century B.C. villas, both in situ and in the new Museum. Continue to the Archaeological Park of Dion, located at the foot of Mount Olympus, the mythical home of the gods. After the visit, start your journey south through Thessaly, passing by Lamia and Thermopylae (where you can see the Leonidas' Monument), and Thebes, before arriving in Athens in the late afternoon.
Overnight in Athens.
