Mazi Travel Participated in the “Clean Up the Med” Initiative at Aretsou Beach, Thessaloniki Sunday, May 25, 2025
A collective initiative for clean coasts and environmental awareness in Thessaloniki.
As part of its ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and social responsibility, Mazi Travel proudly took part in the European environmental campaign Clean Up the Med, organizing a coastal cleanup at Aretsou Beach in Nea Krini, Thessaloniki, on Sunday, May 25.
The initiative was carried out in collaboration with valuable partners and organizations:

the NGO “The Smile of the Child”,

the dynamic volunteer cleaning group “The Cleaningang”,

and the 5th Sea Scout Group of the White Tower.
During the cleanup, large amounts of waste were collected, with cigarette butts and microplastics identified as the most widespread and polluting items on the beach — highlighting the urgent need for public awareness and responsible environmental behavior.
Volunteers of all ages participated with enthusiasm, turning the day into a celebration of collective action and ecological consciousness.
