Aliki Archaeological Site

In antiquity Thasos was famed for its marble, which was shipped across Greece right up to the Slavic invasions in the 6th and 7th centuries, and it’s a trade that has only recently been revived.

Beaches

There are good beaches all around the island, too many to list. Chrysi Ammos, Saliara, Paradise beach, La Scala, Psili Ammos, Alyki beach.

Giola

A natural rocky pool 8m height where the swimmers can dive into the clear water. The course towards Giola is tough and you will have to walk.

Mountain Hikes

Thassos is a fairly small and fairly round island with a mountainous interior. The most challenging walk is naturally to the island's highest peak, Mt Ipsario 1.205m hight.

Theologos

This small upland village is in a hollow between sparsely vegetated hillsides and has been listed as a “traditional settlement” with Macedonian-style stone houses.
