Walk in Hora
This beautiful, picturesque settlement will steal your heart from the first moment. Whitewashed houses, freshly whitewashed streets, small squares, beautiful churches and a plethora of shops. Walk in its whitewashed alleys, under the shelters (passages under the houses) and the flowering bougainvilleas.
Dryopida is a wonderful small settlement at the top of the cliff, which is definitely worth a visit. It has a different character from Loutra and Hora as it is built with the traditional architecture of Kythnos with many neoclassical houses with tiles. Dryopida is ideal for eating and walking on the paved paths.
Church of Panagia Kanala
The church of Panagia Kanala is located in a small seaside village on the south side of the island. This church is considered miraculous. The settlement is also very beautiful, hidden in a pine forest and with a beautiful beach in front.
Its name during the Middle Ages was the Castle of Thermia, where Thermia was the old name of Kythnos due to the thermal baths that were famous during the Roman period. Located on Cape Kefalos, these beautiful ruins belong to a medieval town of about 5000 people.
The most famous beach of the island is the wonderful double bay of Kolona, a thin shady strip of sand that embraces a small cape on the main island. In low season it is the favorite berth for yachts. A beach that is definitely worth visiting.
