Tourism Awards 2022 - mazi travel - events - Gold award in the Technology Enhanced Experience category
With a brilliant ceremony and an attendance of over 500 people, some of the most important initiatives in Greek tourism were celebrated on Monday, May 9, at the Foundation for the Hellenic World.
The Tourism Awards are the most important awards of the Greek tourism market and highlight the quality and innovation in the individual sectors: Travel, Hospitality and Leisure.
The Gold Award was given to our company mazi travel & events in the category Technology Enhanced Experience. Our company was awarded for the thematic tourist program ‘Dive in the Past’, which highlights the underwater cultural heritage of the Mediterranean sea. The program takes place in the area of Alonissos - Shipwreck Peristera of the Classical Period, in Baiae in the Gulf of Naples with the sunken city of the Roman Period, in Gnalic of Croatia with the medieval Shipwreck and in Budva of Montenegro with Naust of Aus War.
The innovation of ‘Dive in the Past’ lies in the integration in the Tourism Program, of applications of the Cultural & Creative Industry. The visitor experience is enhanced through digital virtual and augmented reality applications (AR & VR apps) by converting static photos into video projections from underwater sites and VR presentation of 3D models of underwater sites. Digital applications include an educational and communication game (serious game) which exceeded 5,000 downloads. The above applications are available on Google play and the Apple store.
