The Natural History Museum of Meteora and the Museum of Mushrooms offers you a wonderful experience: Truffle hunting in Meteora! In the beautiful and unknown forests of the area, a very short distance from Kalambaka, visitors can enjoy a unique truffle hunt, taste a delicious truffle pasta in the forest, which is cooked with the truffles found by the truffle dogs, try different types of mushrooms, to get to know the sweet mushroom, to enjoy an excellent wine, as well as to cool off with a quality soft drink. The experience is completed with a guided tour of the Museum.
It is a complete proposal, unique in Greece, while comparing it with similar actions abroad, it is qualitatively, but also financially superior.

METEORA: CLASSIC TRUFFEE HUNTING PLACE IN GREECE
The area of Meteora is a place suitable for the development of truffle hunting. It has wild truffles, while the accessibility is very easy, since a coach can approach the hunting grounds very comfortably.
Our goal is to establish the area as a representative place of truffle hunting in Greece, where the visitor, among others, will have this alternative possibility, either in combination with the monasteries and the other attractions, or as an independent activity that can cover a large part or even the whole day.
The environment is enchanting, the hunting process exciting, while the truffle pasta is unforgettable. The fact that this proposal is combined with one of the few Mushroom Museums in Europe and the world, as well as with mushroom tasting, makes it unrepeatable and unique.
The number of people can be from one to fifty.
THE PROPOSAL
The hunt
The truffle hunter and his truffle dogs are waiting for us! The search begins immediately in every corner of the forest. First truffle, second, third.... The dogs keep going non-stop, while visitors enjoy following them on foot. After a while they stop. They have shown us their skills and are enjoying the caresses and rewards of those present.
The mushroom tasting
After the hunt, the culinary delights begin. Various kinds of mushrooms, from the products of the Museum, await us. In the shade of centuries-old trees, we taste their flavors, while the bottles of wine are opened and our palate experiences unrepeatable moments.
The truffle pasta
The rest belongs to the chefs. One or more of the Museum's chefs start cooking. In an innovative vessel, with a capacity of 50 dishes, they will make a delicious truffle pasta for everyone, after adding some wild mushrooms. At the same time, they reveal the secrets of the truffle and how it is cooked. The pasta is served and the taste heaven unfolds in all its glory.
The museum
After enjoying the truffle pasta we leave for the Museum. There is a guided tour, with a special emphasis on mushrooms. The surprise that awaits visitors, however, concerns the possibility they have to choose and make their purchases, among 70 different mushroom and truffle products, created by the Museum. In fact, their excellent packaging, combined with their quality, make them ideal for gifts to our loved ones.
The program
The duration of the program is approximately 3 hours, while its start is determined each time according to the needs of the participants and the obligations of the Museum. The normal period for its implementation is from the beginning of March to the end of October. It can be carried out in other periods, but with an increased financial burden, for which you can be informed.
Dates : Apart from these dates, group hunts are organized for groups, schools, as well as privé and privé premium.
