Athens, Mainland classic tour and Greek Islands | 8 nights.


The city of Athens, capital of Greece, will take us deep into the history of western civilization by feeling its vibrations and dynamics while visiting the magnificent ancient monument of the Acropolis. The place where Democracy was first established and practiced in the 5th century B.C. The place where many ancient philosophers educated their students.

Delphi oracle, the navel of the earth according to the ancient beliefs, will stage for us once again the historical events that were related to this centuries old sacred place. The enormous Meteora rocks, with the Byzantine monasteries built on top of them, will reveal a world that comes out of the surreal.    

The main-land tour in Peloponnese will take us to the archaeological site of Epidaurus, famous for its great theater and ancient healing resort. Nafplio village, with its picturesque sceneries will give visitors memories of a life time. The huge and well-preserved archaeological site of Ancient Messini, along with the medieval castle of Methoni will revive the glorious civilizations of the past that flourished there.  The tour will also take you to Olympia, the remarkable place of the origin of the Olympic Games. The famous beach of Kalogria will unfold in front of our eyes the splendor of the unspoiled natural beauty.   

On the one-day cruise to the magnificent islands of Hydra, Poros and Aegina, the picturesque scenes will be unfolding in front of your eyes while enjoying the sail at the comfort of the cruise ship deck. On shore visits to all three islands will be an experience to remember for a life time.   

The tastes of the renown Greek cuisine, together with the finger leaking Indian meals included in the voyage, will add to the total satisfaction of all the participants.

Your Itinerary

Day 1 | Arrival in Athens

Arrival at Athens airport and transfer to a local Indian restaurant for lunch. After lunch, hotel check-in and relaxation. In the evening, Athens by night bus tour with stops at Syntagma square and the all-marble Olympic stadium. In the night, folklore show with life songs and dancing. Greek cuisine dinner.

Day 2 | Athens

After breakfast, guided Athens city tour by coach and photo stops. Next, guided tours to the Acropolis monument (on foot) and 15 minutes’ walk to the modern Acropolis museum for an indoor guided tour. Walk in the old area of Athens named Plaka for souvenir shopping. Lunch at an Indian restaurant and transfer to the hotel by coach. Free time in the evening and dinner at an Indian restaurant in the night.

Day 3 | Three-island tour

Morning departure by coach to the port and embarkation of the cruise vessel for the three-island tour. Arrival first at the picturesque vehicles-free Hydra with the rich history and the famous modern night life. Second destination of the cruise, the tiny island of Poros, famous for its peacefulness and its sweets. Third stop at the island of Aegina, world known for its tasty pistachios and its traditional Greek island style village. Strolling by the shore next to the anchored small boats is a must. Arrival at the port of Athens and by coach to the hotel for overnight.

Day 4 | Delphi

Morning departure for Delphi archaeological site. Guided tour of the monument’s oracle, temples, theater, stadium and museum. Walk through the unspoiled old forest of pine trees. Afternoon departure for Meteora and overnight.

Day 5 | Meteora

Morning tour of the huge rocks with their divine Byzantine monasteries. The unique landscape leaves visitors breathless. The centuries old Christian monasteries take us to spiritual journeys. Afternoon departure for Athens and overnight.

Day 6 | Epidaurus & Nafplio

Morning departure by coach and after Corinth canal stop, arrival at the archaeological site of Epidaurus and tour of this famous ancient Greek monument with the great theater and the Asclepius ancient healing resort and its temples. Afternoon tour at the traditional village of Nafplio, the previous capital city of Greece. Walk at its narrow streets, tour its huge castle overlooking the city and the peaceful stroll at its shore line, will be one of the prominent areas of our day. Overnight at a local hotel. 

Day 7 | Ancient Messini

After breakfast departure for Messinia region. Tour of the huge and very well-preserved archaeological site of Ancient Messini. Afternoon tour of the historical medieval castle of Methoni (or Pylos). Overnight at a local hotel.

Day 8 | Ancient Olympia

Morning departure and coach ride to Olympia. Tour of the archaeological site of Ancient Olympia, birth place of the Olympic Games. Afternoon drive to Kalogria scenic beach and walk by the sea. Transfer to Athens and overnight.

Day 9 | Athens/ airport

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for departure back home after this memorable voyage!
